At the time of delivery, your doula will be with you every step of the way to provide continual physical, emotional, and informational support. Assistance may include:
Positioning / Movement
Comfort Support (light massage, breathing exercises, aromatherapy, etc.)
Partner/Family Support
Advocacy & Empowerment; providing informational support so that you can make informed decisions about your care
Encouragement / Motivation
Breastfeeding Assistance in the Immediate Postpartum Period
Labor & Delivery Education/Preparation
Develop Birth Plan/Birth Preferences
Comfort & Stress Management Techniques (for laboring)
Partner Support

What can you expect from your Doula?
Ongoing physical & emotional support before, during, and after the birth of your baby
Following your baby’s birth, in-home Postpartum Visits may include:
Education/Support with Newborn Care (sleeping, health, bathing/hygiene, developmental milestones, etc.)
Support with Recovery/Adjustment After Birth (both physical & emotional)
Newborn Feeding Guidance (whether breastfeeding, using formula, or combo of both)
Resource Referrals
As an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), your doula with Paramount Perinatal Support is well-prepared, knowledgeable, and ready to assist you with any of your breastfeeding, lactation, and/or pumping needs.
Who is eligible for Doula services through Paramount Perinatal Support?
For Birth Support Services :
Must be delivering in Oakland County; during periods of limited availability, preference will be given to clients delivering at DMC Huron Valley Hospital
Must have active Medicaid coverage
For Prenatal / Postpartum / Lactation Support Services :
Must reside in the surrounding Huron Valley Hospital areas (Commerce, White Lake, Highland, Milford, Hartland, Davisburg, Holly, Walled Lake, Wixom, Waterford)
While in-home visitation may not be available for those living outside of the service area, online/virtual visits may still be an option (contact us for details)
Must have active Medicaid coverage
